Senior Technical Accountant

Milwaukee, WI · Hybrid

About Eventini

Eventini is a fast growing fintech company powering point of sale and payments for the food, beverage, and live events industry. In our first year, we're on track to process more than $20 million in transaction volume for bars, food vendors, festivals, and venues, managing the full lifecycle of payments, payouts, fees, and reconciliation so operators can focus on their guests. We're building the financial infrastructure behind live commerce.

About the role

We're looking for a technically minded accountant to own Eventini's accounting and financial operations as we scale, and to help build the technology that runs them. You'll own the books from end to end, including the monthly close, the general ledger, and reconciliation across our payment systems, help lead our multi-state tax work, and serve as the financial partner to our enterprise accounts: operators with multiple locations, each processing $5 to $10 million in annual volume across several states.

This is a hands-on, technical role, equal parts accountant and builder. You should be comfortable writing code and excited to build with machine learning and LLMs. You'll help design the ledgers and reconciliation systems, and build tooling that automates reconciliation, flags anomalies, classifies transactions, and turns messy financial data into answers. You'll work directly with the founders and our engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close, general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and GAAP financial statements.
  • Reconcile transactions, fees, payouts, refunds, and chargebacks across Stripe and Eventini's internal ledger with precision.
  • Lead multi-state sales and use tax compliance as a CPA-level tax accountant: registrations, nexus, rates, and filings.
  • Build machine learning and LLM-powered tooling that automates reconciliation, detects anomalies, classifies transactions, and turns raw financial data into answers.
  • Write production code (Python and SQL) to build the ledgers, data pipelines, and reporting infrastructure that run our financial operations.
  • Serve as the financial partner to enterprise accounts, supporting reconciliation, payouts, and compliance for operators processing $5 to $10 million annually.
  • Partner with engineering on ledger design, data integrity, and the systems that move money.

You may be a great fit if you have

  • 3+ years in accounting or finance.
  • A technical streak: you can write SQL and code (Python), or you are eager to go deeper, and you would rather automate work than repeat it.
  • Solid GAAP, account reconciliations, and an understanding of the order-to-cash and payout lifecycle.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Genuine interest in fintech, payments, and building financial tooling.

Strong candidates may also have

  • A CPA, or meaningful progress toward one.
  • Multi-state sales and use tax experience, including nexus, registration, and filings.
  • Hands-on experience building with machine learning or LLMs (models, RAG, agents, or ML-driven automation).
  • Experience in fintech or payments, with a sense of how money moves through a payments stack.
  • Deep experience with Stripe Connect, or a general ledger / ERP system such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage Intacct.

Compensation

A competitive base salary of $100,000, plus equity (RSUs).

Logistics

Education: Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Hybrid policy: This role is based in Milwaukee, WI, on a hybrid schedule: part of the week together in the office and the rest remote.

Visa sponsorship: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

We encourage you to apply even if you don't believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every qualification as listed. Research shows that people from underrepresented groups are more likely to doubt the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to rule yourself out prematurely. If this role excites you and you understand how money moves, we'd love to hear from you.

How we're different

At Eventini, finance is core infrastructure, not a back office. The numbers you own translate directly into money reaching the right account, on time, for every operator we serve. We value precision, ownership, and automation. We'd rather build a system once than reconcile by hand twice, and you'll have the autonomy to do exactly that.
